The President’s Log
Club members, friends, and honored guests,
As recently elected as President of the Miami County Amateur Radio Club, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and say “Hello!” I’m relatively new to amateur radio compared to many of you - I was first licensed in 2000 and I’ve learned a lot about communications technology and have made a lot of friends in amateur radio during the past 10 years. It was a member of the Miami County Amateur Radio Club that first got me interested in amateur radio, and helped push me down the road towards getting my Technician license, and now, as a recently upgraded General Class licensee, I remain in the debt of those who have helped me along the path – I’m having as much fun as ever. When I think back to the early days of my license, I remember all of the activities and fun we had. As with just about all other radio clubs, we have experienced a loss of momentum in amateur radio operations, but I hope to bring a little bit of that old spark back to the group, and see if we can’t bring a glimpse of the old days back once again. With the advances in technology over the past 10 years, I see a lot of opportunity for ‘new fun’ in amateur radio doing things never before thought possible. I invite you all to come and attend a meeting, participate in a special event, try out some public service operations, or just stop by and say Hi! My ear is always available, and I invite your feedback and communications at any time. See you on the air!
73′s,
